We know all about the benefits of a relaxing vacation. As we’re headquartered in a popular East Coast destination, we see them in effect every day. Seriously, you can walk from our office to about half a dozen Norfolk tourist attractions. It’s great to see people visiting our town, posing for pictures by the Elizabeth River and the MacArthur Memorial, and taking the time to explore the rest of Hampton Roads. From the shores of Virginia Beach to the Colonial majesty of Williamsburg, there’s something here for everybody. We love to travel, too, which is why we specialize in web design and development for the travel industry.
Now, though, we’d rather talk about #PlanForVacation Day, and contribute our own suggestions for those of you looking for somewhere to spend your days off. Over the years, we’ve designed a number of websites for travel destinations and points of interest, in our state and beyond, so anytime we hear of somebody looking for vacation ideas we have the list prepared. This January 30th, consider visiting these sites as you plan for vacation:
VisitCurrituck.com – The Outer Banks are a popular destination for people visiting North Carolina, and the northern area of Corolla is especially beautiful year-round. See the wild Spanish Mustangs frolicking on the beach and tour the historic Whalehead Club.
Stay VA – So you’ve narrowed your travel plans down to the Commonwealth of Virginia, but you haven’t decided between beach or mountains. Stay VA is a great site to peruse for specials and package deals at over 80 bed and breakfast inns.
Pamplin Historical Park – Located in nearby Dinwiddie County, Virginia, Pamplin Historical Park is one of the most visited Civil War sites in the country.
Cape Charles By the Bay – If you want to relax on the Virginia coast, a good distance from crowds, why not explore the Eastern Shore? Save room for crab cakes.
Refuge Inn – In the heart of Chincoteague, you’ll find this relaxing getaway. Bike along the Eastern Shore, see the wild ponies, and tour NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility.
Jamestown Settlement / American Revolution Museum at Yorktown – History is fun, and larger than life at these two sites. You can visit up to four attractions within this historic region for one low price, and Virginia residents can take advantage of an annual pass that pays for itself after one trip.
Oakland International Airport – Live in the Oakland area? Want to fly somewhere amazing for your week off? Use OAK’s site to plan your flight and download a coupon for long-term parking.
Siciclando Bike Tours of Italy – You know how you’ve always dreamed of going on a bicycle tour in Europe? Sure you have. Siciclando specializes in custom and self-guided tours of Italy and Sicily. They can help you plan a unique adventure.
Wherever you go on your vacation this year, we hope you have a safe and amazing time. Our staff have some exciting trips planned, too. You might want to follow us on Instagram for pictures.
